Coastal hard fern

Blechnum blechnoides (B. banksii)?

A little tufted fern which forms a mat in dark areas of the reserve. The photo at left was taken using a flash and hence the yellow colouration. It is also growing along the tracks where its dark green pinna camouflage it against the dark earth. To touch, the frond is quite "hard" hence the name. The fertile pinnae are quite short in comparison to the sterile ones.
